This is probably one of the most scenic trips I have taken to date. My faithful riding buddy Lyle Miller and I headed out on a sunny Saturday morning from Salt Lake City, Utah. After 7 days and 1500 miles we returned having ridden through some of the most beautiful area in the U.S. |
We got caught in a rain and sand storm crossing the Nevada desert. It wasn't until we stopped to put our rain suits on that we discovered our last fuel stop had bad gas. There wasn't a tree or shelter for a hundred miles either direction. After standing out in the storm for half an hour we worked on our carbs and were able to make it to the next town. |
Our second day on the road and we're finally at the entrance to Yosemite Nat'l Park. We pitched our tents near a stream and enjoyed our first night under the stars. |
Just after entering the park we stopped off at a lake at app. 10,000 ft elevation. I don't think many people swim in this one. It couldn't have been much above 40 degrees. |
Every stop just kept getting better and better. That's half dome far in the distance. |
