We arrived in the cool morning hours at the lake. We decided to dismount and take a hike down to the shoreline. It didn't seem very far down from the parking lot. |
Once we got down to the water the temperature was starting to warm up. The cool clear water was very inviting so we took our boots off and slipped our feet in for a cool, well deserved dip. After two days of riding the heavy leather boots became just that. |
The distance was very deceiving. After many switchbacks in the trail we worked our way down to the water's edge. |
The crystal clear, aqua blue water is different than any other lake I have seen inland of the coastal waters. About 50 yards away people were swimming off a sandy beach. The water temperature didn't allow for prolonged exposure to the cool lake. |
We enjoyed our stay here at the waters edge. From here we went on in to the city and found a nice restuarant. The winding road that stretches around the lake was long and slow. |
